Studio Workshops

Studio sessions will include working with available light as well as high speed strobe lights.   The use of radio controlled triggers, umbrella and soft box light modifiers and wide backgrounds will be used.  How to control shadows and highlights and create different lighting moods will be covered plus how to balance each strobe in a multi light set up .  How to work with a live model and properly communicate, give directions and adjust the lighting for best results will be taught. You will learn proper lens focal lengths for head shots and full body shots.  Camera settings including ISO, shutter speed and lens aperture will be fully discussed.  Bring your camera, a fresh battery and an empty memory card.  If your camera is not compatible a camera and lens will be provided.    Sessions will begin at 10 AM and break for lunch at 1 PM.  The afternoon session will begin at 2 PM and end at 6 PM.  Upon completion you will own the copyrights to the photos you take, but a ‘models release’ will be required if you plan to publish pictures that include a model.  Model release forms will be provided.  All Studio Workshop sessions are held indoors.  The exact meeting location will be provided via email several weeks prior to the event.  Check the schedule below for Studio Workshops in your area.
